  • New Widget available for iOS 14. The widget always shows the latest received articles from selected feeds with their title and a short teaser text. Depending of the widget size only 1 (small), 2 (medium) or 5 (large) articles can be shown. Tapping on an entry within the widget opens this articles in the Legi App. In the settings you can configure which feeds should show in the widget.
  • Improved "Reader view": The reader view is now able to get the article text even from web sites with a "chaotic" structure, where older releases were only be able to get parts of the article.
  • Fixes an issue where swiping through articles could show the wrong article photo under certain circumstances
  • Fixes an issue where RSS feeds were missing IDs and links for the articles, which could result that these articles were listed multiple times.

Version 1.6.15 (May, 26th 2020)

  • The App now accepts certain errors in invalid XML code of RSS feeds as well. Therefore a few invalid feeds which were not recognized before can be subscribed successfully now.
  • Fixes a bug for "Playlists" where the speech output could use the wrong voice (wrong language) if the playlist contains feeds in different languages.

Version 1.6.11 (March, 27th 2020)

Version 1.6.7 (February 26th 2020)

  • Processing the full text is now done in the background so overall the Apps should be much smoother under heavy load.
  • Adds a workaround for an issue within watchOS 6. This issue of the watchOS causes a crash when using the German voice for speech output.

Version 1.6.6 (February 4th 2020)

Version 1.6.5 (February 1st 2020)

  • Reduces the memory usage when loading the full text with poster images enabled. Extra large images will be now scaled down to a size which matches the screen size and resolution of the device. This can reduce the memory footprint a lot.
  • Also supports feeds which do not include any text at all, but only an image
  • Fixes an issue when manually adding a feed, in which case the option to load the full text was not evaluated.
  • Solves an issue with watchOS 6 where the communication between Watch and iPhone App was extremely slow

  • Adds a new option in the settings to automatically send new articles to the Watch App, so this doesn't end to be done manually anymore.
  • Fixes an issue where read articles were not always removed from the Watch App

Version 1.5.3 (September 1st, 2019)

  • It is now possible to automatically send new articles to the Watch App, so you do not need to do this manually anymore (though this is still possible in order to do the sync right now)
  • Bugfix: The Watch App will now correctly remove old articles when needed

Version 1.5.2 (July 22nd, 2019)

  • In the settings for a particular feed it's now possible to configure if the full text should be loaded from the website. By default this should be enabled, because most feeds do not include the full text itself. Only a few RSS feeds do provide the full text themselves, and for these feeds loading the full text separately can be omitted.
  • The smart playlists can be also sorted strictly by daten and time, instead of grouping them by date and feed. The "sort" button will toggle between these two modes.
  • There's a new option in the settings to keep Cookies. Cookies are small data snippets which a web site stores in a browser to save its state (for example the login state). Normally this option can be off, so the App does not save anything. But in case you're subscribing to a feed whose web site requires cookies to keep its status and otherwise would not provide any content, you may enable this option.

Version 1.5.1 (June 10th, 2019)

  • The App could crash, if a web site "embedded" images without providing URLs for the images.

Version 1.5 (June 8th, 2019)

  • This release comes with an App for the Apple Watch, so you can read your feeds on the watch as well. The Watch App also supports speech output, so you do not actually read the articles, you can listen to them comfortably.

Version 1.2 (November 15th, 2018)

  • Support for the new iPhone models added (iPhone XS, XS Max, XR)
  • Support for the new iPad Pro models (11“, 12.9“) added
  • Reading mode: The text alignment can be configured
  • New option in the settings to show/hide the icon in the articles list (to get more space for title and description).
  • Better detection of important text on web sites for the reader mode
  • Fixes a crash when adding a feed using the browser if there’s no title for the feed available.
  • Several bugfixes and improvements

Version 1.1 (February 21st, 2018)

  • Legi is able to use the notification center to inform you about new articles. In order to let Legi send notifications, you need to define rules just like you would do for the "smart playlist" feature. These rules are used to identify articles you want to be informed about. This feature is useful if you want to be informed about a specific topic which you don't want to miss. You only need to define rules for specific keywords, feeds etc, and the App will then check the feeds when they are updated if there are articles matching these rules and will send notifications if it finds some. You ca define rules for the notifications in the "Playlist" section by tapping on the "+" and then on "Notification". The rules include an option for the maximum number of notifications send per feed update and an option to decide wether the notification should only be send when the App is in the background or also when it is actively used in the foreground.
  • There's a new option in the settings to remember the position of the speech output individually for each article. This makes it possible that you pause the speech output of one article, listen to another and later come back to the first and continue where you left off..
  • On devices with 3D-Touch feature the App provides a preview of an article if you deep-press on an item in one of the article lists.
  • The large audio player window provides a new "Sleep timer". If you tap on the new "Moon" Icon, you can set a time interval after which the App will stop the speech output and "goes to sleep". This can be useful if you want to listen to some articles when you go to bed and want to make sure that the App won't speak all night when you are already asleep.
  • When iCloud sync is enabled the App will also sync the playlists via iCloud.
  • There's a new option in the settings which allows to display the title for an article with more than one line in the articles list, similar to the option for the description of the articles.
  • The external service "Fever" will be supported as well. Important: "Fever" does not support to add or remove feeds within an App, you need to visit the web interface of this service if you want to do this. Also "Fever" does not support to just update a single feed, you can only update all feeds at once. This is not a restriction of Legi, it's one of "Fever".
  • Some missing labels for user interface elements were added for VoiceOver users.
  • In the web view of an article links which were supposed to open in a new window did not work.
  • The parser for the full text was improved so it will work better with faulty HTML code.
  • In case the full text could not be retrieved for an article, the speech output failed. Now the App will speak the summary from the feed instead.

Version 1.0 (December 10th, 2017)

  • First release.
